No surprise (this just takes what Eretz Israel has always deemed theirs), but according to the speech he gave on September 2nd, this is Netanyahu’s specific plan for Gaza. Outlets are drawing maps according to his comments (I don’t have the sources in English yet).
- Gaza City (in yellow) will be left as it is, in ruins, and uninhibited. Just to its north (in green) Israel will seize permanently and then settled. To this section’s south is the Netzarim Corridor, which will remain impassable for Palestinians.
- Central Gaza (in white, which includes Deir al Balah and Khan Yunis) will remain under full Israeli control, a permanent military presence and possible ‘local civil administration’ in situ. To its south, the Sufa Corridor (striped) is to be another ‘humanitarian’ barrier, eventually to be established with Israeli settlements.
- Rafah in the south of Gaza will be under permanent Israeli military control and separated from central Gaza and Egypt by another barrier.
